Offline Operational Databases

In this initial stage, simply copying the database of an operational system to an off-line sever where the processing load of reporting doesn’t impact on the operational system’s performance.

Offline Data Warehouse

In this initial stage, data will be loaded and updated on a regular time cycle ( ususally daily, weekly, monthly) from the operational systems and data is stored in an integrated reporting oriented structure. 

Real-time Data Warehouse

Data warehouses at this stage are updated on a transaction or event basis, every time on an operational system performs a transaction ( Ex:- An order, A delivery etc.)

Integrated Data Warehouse

DWH at this stage are used to generate activity or transactions that are passed back into the operational systems for use in the daily activity of the organization

Active Data Warehouse

An active data warehouse provides information that enables decision makers within an organization to manage customer relationships quickly, efficiently and proactively
